Teacher shortage in Wisconsin
Students in Wisconsin deserve a high-quality education. However, with the ever-growing teacher shortage, that is becoming more difficult. According to an article by the WDPI, “A new report released today by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction found Wisconsin educators continue to leave the state’s workforce at an alarming rate, and that educator compensation has decreased nearly 20 percent over the past 12 years when held constant in 2022.“ Ultimately, the most recent teacher shortage report shows 2,565 teacher vacancies plus 3,732 underqualified teachers in Wisconsin during the 2021-22 school year.
Teacher Shortage reports claim, "Based on news and state reports, we estimate that there are at least 55,000 vacant teacher positions in the United States."
