Georgia reports teacher vacancies in subject areas including Math, Social Studies, Life Science, and Physical Science in grades 4-12 and Special Education, World Languages and Health in grades K-12. Ultimately, the most recent teacher shortage report shows 3,112 teacher vacancies plus 5,220 under-qualified teachers in Georgia during the 2019-20 school year.
In April 2021, Frontline Education surveyed 1,200 district leaders to discover that two out of three respondents reported having teacher shortages in their schools. This is a record high since launching the survey in 2015.
