Celebrating 2026 Teacher Appreciation Month

How does Proximity Learning appreciate its teachers?

As May marks Teacher Appreciation Month, Proximity Learning acknowledges that one month cannot sum up the endless recognition teachers deserve. All year long, we strive to demonstrate our appreciation for teachers in various ways. Through written and video teacher features, we take the time to listen to our teachers’ stories and how they work with their students. By highlighting their experiences, we hope the public can witness a bit of the excellence within the classroom. 

Teacher Features

Our monthly series of teacher features is available on YouTube, where standout teachers share insights into their roles as virtual educators and the subject(s) they teach. We hope these short videos give our teachers the chance to share their fulfilling work and give audiences the chance to learn more about the success of live, virtual teachers.

Additionally, Proximity Learning will often interview teachers to deep dive into their teaching journey, the methods they use in the classroom, and the range of their experiences. Our teacher feature blogs take a closer look at the lives of virtual teachers and all that they have accomplished with their students. Training & Support

Proximity Learning is dedicated to the growth of our teachers as professional educators trained to teach under any capacity. We offer online professional development courses that teachers can access at any time to further their skills. We have monthly faculty meetings with professional development and departmental collaboration opportunities to promote engagement. Additionally, teachers have two professional development days during the school year with intensive half-day sessions to improve their virtual instruction. Through these sessions, we give our teachers the space to acquire new knowledge and enhance their teaching capabilities alongside their colleagues. 

Many of our outstanding teachers are also certified by the National Virtual Teachers Association, which offers the equivalent of a university-accredited course in virtual education. This certification sets them apart from other virtual teachers as they go through comprehensive training that prepares them to teach in the virtual classroom. 

Teacher Curated Spotify Playlist

A fun and new way we aim to increase unity among our teachers is through a shared Spotify playlist that was created through songs submitted by Proximity Learning teachers.
